Endometriosis

Domestic and international clinical studies in Korean medicine report that herbal prescriptions designed to unblock and nourish blood, as well as those that resolve blood stasis in the lower abdomen, significantly lower the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for endometriosis-related pain. Additionally, thermotherapy, such as *Wang-tteum* (large moxibustion), contributes to reducing inflammatory cytokines by improving pelvic blood flow. However, Korean medicine alone cannot remove lesions identified via laparoscopy; significant synergy is achieved when combined with hormone therapy or surgery. Dongjedang approaches recovery by combining herbal medicines that promote blood circulation and resolve blood stasis with deep tissue thermotherapy before and after surgery or hormone therapy to lower recurrence rates and accelerate recovery.
