So when one is first discovered, we do not operate immediately but instead follow up over time, watching for changes by ultrasound. On the other hand, an endometrioma (chocolate cyst), a cyst that grows beyond a certain size, or one that does not disappear during follow-up or has a complex appearance may require separate evaluation and treatment.
