#Drug Combination / Interactions

Q I take prescribed digestive aids and antispasmodics. Can I take herbal medicine together?

A If you leave a 1-2 hour gap, you can mostly take them together. If you tell us your current medications at your visit, we adjust the herbal composition and dosing times.

Detailed Answer

Antispasmodics (such as Buscopan) and prokinetics used to treat abdominal pain have almost no known direct component conflicts with herbal medicine. However, considering absorption, we advise taking herbal medicine and Western medicine 1-2 hours apart. As symptoms improve, we help you reduce the Western medication step by step.

Korean Medicine Clinic Perspective

Please be sure to tell us the medications and doses you are taking at your visit. Considering your concurrent medication state, we prescribe the safest and most effective herbal composition.
